Volunteers needed

The Perl Conference is 100% volunteer powered! We need your help! If you’re able to donate even a few hours, it goes a long way to helping TPC run smoothly.

Many volunteer needs can be fulfilled while still enjoying the fantastic sessions we have scheduled this year. Additionally, volunteers who provide at least 2 hours of help in a single day are eligible to take advantage of the free catered lunch for conference staff.

If you are interested in helping during the event please fill out the volunteer application form,   http://bit.ly/tpcVolunteer. If you sign up to donate at least 16 hours of your time between June 17th and June 22nd, you’ll receive a free pass to the the main conference Jun 18 – Jun 20.

Lightning Talks

A lightning talk is a quick 5 minute (or less) presentation. The topic may be serious, funny, or both. There will be space for 10 lightning talk presentations each on Tuesday and Wednesday. Lightning-talk-givers can be first time speakers or experienced presenters, and everyone in between! It’s open to anyone, but to secure your 5 minutes in the spotlight you should sign-up early. http://bit.ly/TPCLightningTalks

We’ve also got some great tutorial sessions offered this year. Tutorials are on June 17th, June 22nd and June 23rd, surrounding the conference main event days. You can find out topics as well as dates and times on our website http://bit.ly/TPCiSLC.

Birds of a Feather (BoF) List

We have a list of registered BoF’s. You can show your interest by signing up on Eventbrite or you can view them at /birds-of-a-feather-sessions/

Tickets and Lodging – extra rooms

The organizers of the conference reserved some of the external motel style rooms and there are a few units that haven’t been allocated yet. If you are in need of lodging and want to be very close to the conference, contact our organizers to get information on how to secure one for yourself. They will be transferred on a first come, first serve basis. Send requests to admin@perlconference.us.

It’s not too late to purchase your ticket to attend TPC! With all kinds of topics and useful sessions, even at the late registration price it’s a great value. You can also purchase a pass for a tutorial session while you are registering for the main event days. Choose from the many tutorial sessions offered to get hands-on training by a Perl expert.

There is still some availability at the Little America Hotel. If you haven’t secured your lodging you should check on that now. TPC recommends reserving Tower rooms which are located inside the conference hotel. These spacious rooms have amazing views overlooking Salt Lake City. Be sure to let an agent know you are attending The Perl Conference when you make your reservation.

Note, self-parking is included for guests and attendees. Valet parking is available for $7 per day.

Reservations can be made online at:    https://reservations.travelclick.com/4650?groupID=2075453 or by calling 1-800-437-5288 (Note: Please be sure to let the agent know that you are reserving a room for The Perl Conference).
